In the salt lake in Larnaca, Cyprus, the main source of food for the flamingos is Artemia, which in turn feeds on the microalgae Dunaliella. That is why flamingos have a pinkish colour.

All the designs available are made from drawings and paintings by Peter. They are made from observations of the actual insects, molluscs and other animals and plants that are found in Cyprus. Each species has been fully identified and named.
